Hosted by Stanley Tucci and held in the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern Museum in London, the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2016 was a spectacular red-carpet event. Bella Hadid stole the red-carpet show again and it seems that the ladies are attracting the most attention from this predominantly men’s event.
Notable winners include comedian Amy Schumer, who was named best Woman; Ricky Gervais took the Genius award; Star Trek actor Chris Pine won International Man and Adventurer Bear Grylls won TV Personality.
Since it was a men’s event, let’s take a look at some of the menswear that was photographed on the red-carpet as a collection of men’s formal fashion trends on display. A clear trend is often not that obvious with men’s formalwear but we are loving the mix of fabrics, textures and prints. As the event was sponsored by Hugo Boss, there are also some Boss suits in classic black on show.
Texture includes a brush with velvet and look out for Tom Daley in an all-over leafy monochrome print. The white jacket makes a fashionable statement on Chris Pine and make sure you don’t miss the shoulder detail on Elton John’s jacket!
