We were going to bring you an update from Marchesa at NYFW but got totally sidetracked and enthralled with their Fall 2016 collection. We’re in the midst of Matric Dance season here in SA so why not pour over these designer beauties before we get dressed up in our own magical creations?
It’s like a visit to a museum as each look is inspired by Edwardian high society women – as painted by John Singer Sargent. Each girl was her own portrait and draped head to toe in opulent detailing. The drama of organza, tulle and floor-sweeping gowns with embellishment treats filled the runway for Marchesa’s collection.
A floral thread runs through the collection and we’re even seeing a touch of the 1950’s style flapper dress. Be inspired and think about adding a touch of drama to your glamorous occasion.
