How do we even begin to explain the magic and beauty of what unfolded in Rome last week? If you’re Fendi and its your 90th anniversary, how else do you celebrate but with an enchanting display of fashion at one of the most famous fountains in the world.
As part of the Paris Couture shows, Fendi flew guests over to Rome for their show just as the Paris Couture shows were wrapping up. The beautiful Trevi Fountain in Rome was the backdrop for the show and models seemed to be walking on water on a perspex runway that was made for the event. Fendi’s well known head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who celebrates 50 years with the brand, named the show Legends and Fairytales and threw coins in to the fountain to mark this momentous occasion. Tossing coins in to the Trevi fountain has become a tourist tradition when visiting Rome and legend has it that it ensures your return to Rome one day.
Kendall Jenner opened the show in a blue gray astrakhan coat with a full skirt and in true fairytale style, stand-out detail included empire waists, bell sleeves, floral detail and light airy fabrications. Hair was tightly curled and half up with pastel colour ribbons.
Decide for your yourself but just imagine a European Summer evening, magical Rome, the incredible Trevi fountain and Fendi’s enchanting fashions all in one place.
Wish we were there xx
